Why we exist

Two decades inside the gap between policy and practice.

Organisations have solid policies, standards and intentions. What happens on the ground often looks different, and leaders are caught out while their systems show green. Method8 was founded on one belief: if you engage the people doing the work and give them a team with time to act, you find the real situation sooner and fix it before it becomes an event.

A note from the founder

I spent most of my career running operations and the standards that were supposed to govern them. The pattern was always the same. Head office wrote a good document. Site got it in an email. A year later an auditor found it had not landed, and the fix was handed to the same people who had no time the first time around.

Nobody in that chain was doing a bad job. There was simply no team whose job it was to make the standard real, and no honest way to see whether it had become how the site runs.

Method8 is that team. We bring senior people who have done the work, a delivery team to carry the follow-through, and software we built so the whole thing takes almost none of your leaders' time. We would rather be judged on whether the standard holds next year than on the slide deck we leave behind.

Your practitioners

Senior people who have owned the result inside a business like yours.

Each program is led by one of them from the first interview to the yearly check. Behind them sits an onshore and offshore delivery team and the engineers who build our software.

Who we work with

Multi-site, safety-critical, stretched.

Mining, energy, utilities and heavy manufacturing. Usually three or more operating sites, a standards or assurance function that exists but is buried, and a senior leader who knows something needs to happen and has no spare team to make it so.

We are not the right fit for a single site that wants a licence to self-serve, or for a tick-the-box exercise before a regulator visit with no intent to keep it running.
